County Engineers Association of Maryland Meeting

April 29, 2005

The County Engineers Association of Maryland (CEAM) is an organization comprised of Maryland public works engineers of all disciplines.  Every year, they hold a meeting and conference in Solomons Island in Southern Maryland .  This is an opportunity for the organization’s members to attend seminars, network with other public service professionals, and enjoy some good food and drink.

The 2005 Maryland Solar Decathlon Team was there this year to talk about their project and education engineering professionals about the importance of solar energy in the public sector.  The team talked to engineers from all over the state of Maryland, including many Maryland alums.

Team members manned a booth at the conference and talked about energy efficient construction, solar technology, and sponsorship opportunities.  The day concluded with a banquet, where Dr. Kaye Brubaker, Maryland’s faculty advisor, spoke about a scholarship she received from CEAM while an undergraduate at Maryland .

Overall, the team made many valuable contacts and members of the CEAM learned a lot about the team and its mission.  The team hopes to see many CEAM members visit the Maryland house in October on the National Mall!
