Company Profile

The IEEE (Eye-triple-E) is a non-profit, technical professional association of more than 360,000 individual members in approximately 175 countries.  Through its members, the IEEE is a leading authority in technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications, to electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics, among others.

The Washington Section has an illustrious history going back over 100 years, providing professional development, networking opportunities, employment assistance and other services to members, educational outreach to the community and to potential future engineers from elementary school to college. With about 6400 members in Washington D.C., Montgomery, Prince George's, Frederick, Washington, Charles and St. Mary's counties in Maryland, and parts of West Virginia, the IEEE Washington Section supports the operation of twenty technical society chapters, six student branches, and four affinity groups.
